What We Believe

The Holy Scriptures
We believe the Holy Scriptures to be the very words of God to man and through men. The Holy Bible,
comprising 66 books, both Old and New Testament, is verbally inspired, authoritative, infallible and
without error in the original manuscripts. We further believe that the scriptures are designed for our
instruction in faith and practice. 2 Timothy 3:16-17

The Trinity
We believe that the Trinity eternally exists in three persons: The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit;
and that these three are one God. Deuteronomy 6:4; Genesis 1:26; Matthew 28:19

God
We believe in the one living and true God. He exists as the eternal triune God revealing Himself to us as
Father, Son and Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or
being. Deut. 6:4,5

The Lord Jesus Christ
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the Eternal Son of God, was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of
the Virgin Mary, received a human body and a sinless human nature without ceasing to be God. He came
into the world to manifest God to men, fulfilling prophecy, and in obedience to God the Father and out of
love for man, he died on the cross in the stead of sinful man to pay for the sins of man, was buried, raised
bodily and ascended to the right hand of the Father, and will return visibly in his person in glory and
power.
Luke 1:30-35; John 1:1-3, 14, 18; Hebrews 4:15; Philippians 2:5-11 ; Romans 3:25-31; 2 Corinthians
5:14; Hebrews 10:5-14
The Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit is God, the Third Person of the Trinity, co-equal and co-existent with the
Father and the Son. The Holy Spirit indwells every believer immediately after he accepts Jesus as his
personal Savior and that God provides, through the Holy Spirit, power to live a godly life. Through the
Holy Spirit each believer is bestowed spiritual gifts at salvation to equip him to spiritually build up the
body of believers.
Romans 5:5; 8:1-9; Galatians 5:16-25 ; 1 Corinthians 6:19-20; Romans 12:6; 1 Corinthians 12:7;
Ephesians 4:7

The Personality Of Satan
We believe that Satan, the devil, is the prince of demons and the adversary of God and man. However,
when the Lord Jesus Christ died on the cross, He limited the power of the devil and guaranteed the
ultimate triumph of God.
Ephesians 2:2; 1 Peter 5:8; Revelation 20:10; Colossians 2:13-15

Salvation
We believe that salvation is a free gift of God’s grace to the lost and that the new birth of the believer
comes only through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God. We also believe that our redemption
has been accomplished only by the grace of God, as gift we could not earn, given in love by God and not
the result of any human works.
John 3:16; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Galatians 3:13; Romans 4:4-5

The Rapture And The Second Coming Of Christ
We believe the Lord Jesus Christ will visibly return to the earth and will receive to Himself into Heaven
both His own who are alive and also all who have died in Jesus Christ. The righteous will receive their
reward and live with God forever.
1 Thessalonians 4:13-17; Zechariah 14:4-11; Revelation 3:10

Eternal State
We believe that Heaven and Hell exist as places of an eternal state. We believe that at death the spirits and
souls of those who have trusted in the Lord Jesus Christ will traverse immediately into His presence and
there remain in union with God until the resurrection of the glorified body when Christ comes for His
people, where soul and body reunited shall be with Him forever in glory. All those who rejected Jesus
Christ will be eternally separated from God to suffer from His eternal wrath forever.
2 Corinthians 5:8; Revelation 20:11-15; 21:1-27

The Church
We believe that the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ is a holy priesthood of believers and is an
autonomous local congregation of baptized believers that declare the wonders of God, worshipping God
and fellowshipping together in the faith, observing Baptism and the Lord’s Supper, exercising the gifts of
the Holy Spirit, and obeying Christ’s command to share the gospel to the ends of the earth. Each

congregation operates under the Lordship of Christ and each member is responsible and accountable to
Christ as Lord. Its biblically appointed officers are pastors and deacons. While both men and women are
gifted for service in the church, the office of pastor is limited to men as qualified by Scripture.
1 Corinthians 12:12 -24; Matthew 16:18

Baptism and The Lord’s Supper
We believe that Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water. This ordinance is an act of
obedience that symbolizes the believer’s faith in Christ crucified, buried, and resurrected, the believer’s
death to sin, the burial of the old life, and the resurrection to walk in a new life in Christ Jesus. As a
symbolic of obedience The Lord’s Supper memorializes the death of Christ and anticipates His second
coming.
Matthew 26:26 -29; 1 Corinthians 11:23-32

Evangelism
We believe that each Christian is called to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ and to seek to make
disciples
Matthew 28: 18-20
